According to reports in the Italian media, Leeds United are still leading the chase to sign Virtus Francavilla midfielder Michael Folorunsho despite competition from Serie A.

Last week we covered a claim from Italy that Leeds United were in pole position to sign the 21 year old and it seems the Championship side are still favourites to land the player.

Tutto Calcio Puglia have reported on a claim from Corriere dello Sport that Leeds United are ‘the hottest one’ to sign Folorunsho after similar reports in the Italian press last week.

It’s claimed Serie A side Genoa have joined the race to sign the young midfielder, but they face competition from Perugia and Cosenza. Genoa are said to be ahead of their fellow Italian clubs to land Folorunsho, but Leeds United is his likeliest destination at this stage.

The youngster has been at Vitus Francavilla since 2014 but he could be set to get his big break this summer.
