At the weekend, the Spanish media covered how emotional Hector Bellerin was after what could be his last home game for Betis. On loan from Arsenal, the fullback is expected to return to London this summer.
Those scenes, however, put some pressure on the La Liga side to try and keep the player for longer. So as club president Angel Haro went to a league meeting today, he was asked about the chances of the 27-year-old staying.
“In the case of Hector, he’s a fantastic player, a very good person. It was a loan we had from Arsenal, he returns to his team and from there we will see,” said Haro.
“It’s true that he’s been very caught up in everything that is Beticism because his parents are Betis, and hopefully we will cross paths again.”
Covering the quotes, AS claim the doubts regarding Bellerin’s future are set to continue ‘for weeks’, as it seems hard that Arsenal and Betis can reach an agreement for his transfer soon.
Taking claims from England which say the Gunners want €10m to sell the player, the story claims the green side are not willing to spend that much, especially because they’re going through economic difficulties.
On their side, however, there’s Bellerin’s wish to stay, and Betis’ president has now made it clear he’s also keen on a deal.
