Manchester City are one of the clubs set to have a scout in attendance tonight at Sporting’s home stadium, Estádio José Alvalade.
The Lions will host Arsenal in the Champions League later today and the Manchester City official is expected to follow this tie.
O Jogo told Sporting’s Francisco Trincão that Manchester City and Bayern Munich will be among the clubs to have scouts at Alvalade, and and asked his take.
“I don’t control it and I can’t focus or think about it. I only control tomorrow’s game and my preparation today, that ends up being unrelated to my day-to-day life,” he said.
It’s to be noted the outlet have only mentioned the Premier League winners and Bayern Munich would be following the European clash in general rather than specifically travelling to see the 24-year-old, and there’s no strong links suggesting otherwise.
Sport get it wrong when trying to relay the claim from Portugal about Manchester City and Bayern. They say these two clubs will send officials to monitor the Portugal international, which isn’t actually reported by O Jogo.
Sporting initially signed the winger from Barcelona on loan in 2022 and made his stay permanent the following year. The Catalan outlet states the La Liga side have a buyback option or will receive 50% of the profit from his future sale.
The hope of Barca collecting 50% from Manchester City or Bayern signing Trincão seems to have seen Sport get carried away and twist things.
