There are a few potential bargains emerging around Europe, and Newcastle United will likely be one of the clubs taking a look.

In Italy, Federico Chiesa is living life far too calmly for Juventus’ wishes. The 26-year-old now has left than a year left on his contract with the Turin club, but he’s an oasis of calm.

He’s just married his sweetheart Lucia and is enjoying life. Sure, he’d have liked to have done better at Euro 2024, repeating his important role in the previous tournament and winning the entire thing, but it’s not the end of the world.

Chiesa can see out the final year of his contract or move this summer, and he’s not going to be too stressed about it.

This is setting alarm bells off at Juventus, and Thursday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport says they ‘hope for a lunge’ from someone like Newcastle United or Bayern Munich.

Both of those clubs are said to have good relations with the player’s entourage, although the reasons for that aren’t shared.

Interestingly, Corriere dello Sport report Juventus are currently asking for €20m but ‘could be forced to go even lower’ in the coming weeks.

Certainly one for Newcastle United and others to keep an eye.

Federico Chiesa can play in multiple attacking positions, across the width of the pitch. Last season wasn’t his best, but he still managed 10 goals across 37 appearances.
