Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s potential move to Barcelona is not dead yet, and that’s according to the Catalan club.
Blaugrana president Joan Laporta has been speaking to the Spanish media on Monday evening, and was asked directly about signing the striker from Arsenal before the window closes this evening.
Laporta, who had already told other reporters that Barcelona’s business was not done yet, is quoted by Cope as saying: “We would like to incorporate Aubameyang. His issues with Arsenal have been solved, it is complicated, but there is hope.”
Earlier this evening there were conflicting Spanish claims on whether the medical that had been booked for the Gunners man had been cancelled or not, with some saying the staff had been sent home, and others insisting the medical team had been told to stay in place.
Given Laporta’s comments, it would appear that the medical team must still be ready somewhere, waiting to go through the tests should everything else be agreed.
Barcelona are still trying to work on an outgoing deal for Ousmane Dembele, with Chelsea and PSG linked to the Frenchman.
