Arriving at Aston Villa on a free from Marseille, Boubacar Kamara started well under Steven Gerrard with the Premier League club.
He started the first seven games of the season, but came off injured in the 1-0 win over Southampton with a knee issue.
It quickly became news that the 22-year-old would miss the World Cup, with many writing the Aston Villa midfielder off.
However, bodies can be wonderful things, and it appears Kamara has recovered a bit quicker than anticipated, which is why Le Parisien reckon ‘hope is allowed’ when it comes to his chances of making the France squad.
The player is expected to ‘return to training today’ ahead of Unai Emery taking over at Aston Villa, but it remains to be seen whether or not he gets game time.
With just over a week left before Didier Deschamps announces his squad for the World Cup, perhaps a few minutes against Manchester United on November 7th would go a long way to showing his national team manager he can be of use during the upcoming international tournament.
Prior to making the switch to Aston Villa, Kamara had made 170 appearances for his childhood club, scoring four goals and picking up six assists along the way.
