F5 Haber claim Fenerbahce youngster Eljif Elmas has rejected the chance to sign for Cardiff City as he thinks staying with the Istanbul club would be a better option than moving to the Welsh side.

The Macedonian youngster is highly rated among the Fenerbahce coaching staff and other Premier League clubs have reportedly been chasing his signature.

In December we covered reports from Turkey that Tottenham Hotspur were monitoring the situation with Elmas but faced competition from Real Madrid.

Elmas has also recently been linked with a move to Leicester City, and F5 Haber now report Cardiff City are interested.

Despite his enormous potential Elmas has struggled this season and the club’s poor form hasn’t helped with his progression.

It’s reported Fenerbahce manager Ersun Yanal will give special attention to the 19 year old after the international break following Cardiff City’s attempts to sign him.

Elmas has played 34 games for Fenerbahce in all competitions this season and scored one goal.
