Gunther Neuhaus isn’t happy, and it sounds like he has good reason for that.
Neuhaus represents Niclas Füllkrug and he’s been informed ‘an unknown agent’ has presented a €22m offer to Hannover 96 from Everton.
German newspaper Aller Zeitung report ‘Everton are not aware of the offer’ either, and Neuhaus has called the situation “highly dubious”.
It’s suggested the agent may have been trying to make money out of a Füllkrug transfer, despite not officially representing the player, and Everton, as far as Aller Zeitung have it, not authorising the move themselves.
Füllkrug is expected to remain at Hannover 96 beyond the summer, partly because the club don’t have someone ready to stand in for him.
There have been links with other clubs, but it’s the approach from someone trying to build a deal for Everton which has caught the attention of the player’s agent.
It’s not unheard of for intermediaries to try and build a deal and then present that to a club with the hope of taking a cut in commission.
