Bagging two goals against Club Brugge at the weekend, Yannick Bolasie is quickly scoring his way into the hearts of Anderlecht fans, as the club edges ever closer to competing in the league’s Playoffs I, where the top six teams compete for the title after the main season is over.

Arriving after a relatively tepid first half of the campaign loan with Aston Villa, the Everton forward became the club’s best paid player, with the Belgian side taking on his wage, and with that came pressure.

A quiet first couple of games had people worried he would turn out to be another Lazar Markovic, but the past few weeks have convinced them of the opposite.

In fact, he’s impressed everyone, including the press.

Analysing the forward’s recent performances, DH’s Alex Teklak had nothing bad to say about the DR Congo international.

He explained: “What I’m amazed about is his personality despite the fact he knows no one at the club. Without personality, you can’t have an impact on the game. He’s got a great attitude, he’s cool. He’s a calm guy, modest, humble and who knows where he comes from.

“You can tell he’s passionate. He wants to give the best for the team, regardless of the shirt on his back”.

For Everton, there will have been hope for the forward to get back to his former level, and it appears he’s well on his way to doing that.

Bought for £26m and under contract until 2021, the summer will be a big moment for Bolasie and the Toffees, as decisions will need to be made where he plays next year.

If he’s fully fit and scoring for fun, perhaps giving him another go at Goodison Park next year might not be the worst idea.
