Wednesday night promises to be a good night of football for neutrals, as both Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool face each other in the Champions League in a game that could decide the French club’s fate in the competition.

A win for Jürgen Klopp’s men would see the Ligue 1 champions all but eliminated in the group stages and left facing a run in the Europa League.

Desperately needing at least a point from the game, we doubt we’ll see a free flowing attacking set up by Thomas Tuchel, and there’s a good chance both teams will cancel each other out for the vast majority of the game.

Getting in touch with ex-Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld, Le Parisien wanted to know a little bit more about what to expect of Wednesday’s game.

He said: “I doubt Tuchel will be able to thwart Klopp’s plans. The two men know each other off by heart, they know everything about each other’s team. This will be a very even game, and it’ll be a detail or an individual action that will make the difference.”

Describing both of them as ‘passionate’ and ‘perfectionists’, Hitzfeld also highlighted how good they are at controlling a dressing room, as it’s this ‘authoritarian’ side of them that allows them to be liked by everyone on the team.

As to how they differ from each other?

He said: “Klopp is probably a bit more emotional. He’s in a good mood 24/7 and is capable of making a joke at any moment.”

Wednesday night should be fun.
