Unless you pay attention to the Vanarama National League closely, the name Ethan Chislett may not mean a lot to you, but the 20-year-old has caught the attention of a number of clubs.

The midfielder’s performances in his debut season with the club were such that teams such as Leeds United, AFC Bournemouth have taken an interest, and now Avellino in Serie C have made the first, and perhaps bold, move to secure his services.

The news comes from Eleven Sports broadcaster Antonio Fioretto, relayed by TuttoAvellino, who spoke to SportChannel about the bid.

He said: “Avellino are interested in a South African player. His name is Ethan Chislett, a technically strong midfielder who plays for Aldershot Town. Avellino have offered a salary of €3000, plus food and lodging.

“The offer arrived through intermediaries consulted by Avellino. He’s followed by half of England from the second-tier up, including Leeds and Bournemouth”.

While born in South Africa, Chislett has been in England since the age of six, as he explained in an interview with TheShots.co.uk.

Either way, with nine goals and nine assists in his debut season in the National League following his move to Aldershot Town from Met Police, the youngster has caught the eye of many a scout, including those of Marcelo Bielsa.

If Leeds really are interested, then Avellino are unlikely to stand a chance, but, then again, it all depends on what Chislett has planned for his career.
