On Friday, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà explained that an intermediary has ‘proposed’ Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil to Lazio.
The Serie A side seem to be looking for a winger in winter market closes and have already identified a few targets.
Speaking to Sportitalia Mercato, Pedullà has provided more updates on Lazio’s interest in the Tottenham player.
Felipe Anderson and Pedro are among the attacking options currently at Maurizio Sarri’s disposal. The duo have deals expiring after this season and the Biancocelesti are evaluating various attackers in the market.
“The only profile of interest at the moment is Bryan Gil, a Spaniard from Tottenham. He is convincing from the age point of view and technique, but definitely less so for the performance he has had in terms of goals and assists. However, he remains the only name evaluated by Lazio at the moment,” Pedullà said.
Ange Postecoglou hasn’t relied upon Gil a lot this season as he’s clocked in 217 minutes from 10 games this season. The Spain international was an unused substitute in Spurs’ FA Cup loss to Manchester City on Friday.
Tottenham only have Premier League matches left this season and with the former Celtic manager having several other options in the attack, Gil may find it difficult to turn things around if he were to continue at the north London club.
