Claims in the English media that Arsenal are keen on Arda Turan as a potential Mesut Ozil replacement have very quickly made their way to Spain. By remarkable coincidence, Barcelona have been looking for a solution for Arda’s future, wanting to get the player’s high wages off their bill.

The Turkey international hasn’t done badly at Barcelona since joining from Atletico Madrid, but he’s not an essential part of the set-up and his sale would not only bring in funds but also free up a big chunk of wages.

With Barcelona changing managers in the summer, the club need to provide some opportunity for the incoming coach to bring in his own men. Marca and others in Spain report on Thursday that Arsenal interest would be a boost for Barcelona.

However, with it already being a gamble, a suggested fee of near €30m makes it even more so, and it would surely be something Arsene Wenger would take long consideration over before deciding to go for it.
