Udinese’s Oumar Solet is good enough to play for Liverpool in the future.
That’s at least what Udinese chief scout Andrea Carnevale thinks, and has backed the defender to join Liverpool.
Carnevale, who previously had a spell at Napoli during his playing career, had a chat with Kiss Kiss Napoli and L’Interista have relayed his comments.
Solet was without a club since Red Bull Salzburg released him at the end of last season.
The defender arrived at the Italian club in the winter market and signed a contract until 2027. He made seven appearances for the Serie A club so far and has impressed with his performances.
Carnevale has been working at Udinese over the last 25 years. The 64-year-old says Gino Pozzo needs to be credited and the club should be praised for signing the centre-back in the last window.
There’s been no concrete claims of interest from Liverpool so far. Despite this, Carnevale insists the Frenchman is good enough to represent the Reds, Inter Milan or Napoli.
“Solet is a good defender, Udinese should be praised, having signed a boy at zero is a great merit. Gino Pozzo was very good at believing in him, it was his will to sign him,” he said.
“As head of scouting I have to congratulate the club. I like good-performing defenders, I don’t know where Solet will go, but he is a player for Liverpool, Inter and Napoli. I didn’t expect a player who was already so ready, he has a great personality.”
It looks like Carnevale could be trying to create a hype around the new Udinese signing for the summer window.
