Feyenoord would find it difficult to bring Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson back to the club, according to 1908.nl.

The winger is a product of the north London club’s academy and was promoted to their first team in 2017.

He initially found it hard to get regular game time and that saw Arsenal send him out on loan to the Dutch club during the 2021/22 season. Nelson managed four goals and seven assists from 32 games for Feyenoord.

His situation at Arsenal has seen a limited role since the start of last season.

On Tuesday, the player made his first Champions League start of the season, against PSV Eindhoven. After the match, he spoke to RTL about his loan spell at Feyenoord

“I have a good relationship with the coach [Arne Slot]. I helped them a few years ago and that was a great time. I was able to develop really well,” he said, as quoted by 1908.nl.

A return to the Dutch club isn’t an option and the 24-year-old made his intentions clear when asked about a possible exit from Arsenal.

“I have signed a new contract with Arsenal, this is where my heart is at the moment,” Nelsson explained.

The Englishman signed a deal until 2027 and has an option to extend it for another year. He’s managed a goal and three assists from 14 games this season.
