Fotospor report Besiktas’ new head of football Erdal Torunogullari is keen to sign a centre back in January and that he’s targeting Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho.

The Frenchman has only played three games for Roy Hodgson’s side this season and is currently sidelined due to injury.

It’s reported the Turkish side will look to sign a central defender during the next transfer window as they only have three options at their disposal. One of those is Victor Ruiz, who’s currently out injured.

It’s claimed the Crystal Palace player has many friends in Turkey and he could look to join Besiktas to make a fresh start in his career. The Black Eagles will reportedly look to open transfer talks with Palace to loan the player in the January transfer window.

The former Paris Saint Germain player is under contract at Selhurst Park until June 2021.

Besiktas are also looking to target Everton’s Cenk Tosun in the new year.
