Some months ago, Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap was linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus.
The Old Lady had scouted the striker and were impressed by his performances. While they didn’t make a move for him, another Italian club has been encouraged to sign the Englishman.
Intermediary Michele Fratini spoke to Radio FirenzeViola about how Fiorentina could potentially lose Moise Kean in the summer and he was also asked who can replace the Italy international in the next few months.
He tipped the Florence club to move for Ipswich Town’s Delap and said: “Personally I would go for Delap, a 2003 born from Manchester City on loan at Ipswich Town, he is very strong, he is a single player and would cost you around €25m.”
It is easy to see why any club in Europe would be attracted by the possibility of signing Delap. He’s scored 10 Premier League goals and also has two assists to his name, despite Ipswich Town’s struggles.
Having said that, it is quite optimistic to believe that Ipswich Town will sell their prized asset for only €25m. They had initially signed the 22-year-old from Manchester City for a fee of around £20m some months ago.
So if Fiorentina were to sign Delap, they would have to pay a hefty fee to land him.
