In all honesty, there hasn’t really been much from either the Belgian or English media this week about a possible Toby Alderweireld Tottenham exit.

Sure, there’s been suggestions of a late effort, and Daniel Levy was the subject of a Belgian character assassination on Wednesday, but it’s all felt rather forced. Like there’s an obligation to just say something in the gap of anything concrete.

Thursday’s edition of HLN doesn’t sound confident for a transfer.

It’s stated that ‘perhaps’ there’s no solution for Alderweireld. As things looked on Wednesday night ‘he has to stay with Tottenham’.

Manchester United haven’t been prepared to pay the asking price, this time put at ‘over €60m’ and it’s a situation that ‘may not change today’.

See? It’s more of the same.

That’s either because there is something happening and no information is getting out, or that there’s nothing going at the moment and aside from a last minute change, there will be no transfer for the Belgian defender.
