Hans Vanaken has starred for Club Brugge this season, scoring 10 goals and managing eight assists in 29 matches in all competitions.
The attacking midfielder had three goals to his name in the Champions League and two of them came in his side’s 1-1 draw to Paris Saint-Germain and a 1-5 defeat to Manchester City.
Last September, the Belgium international’s father welcomed the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to sign his son next summer.
There’s even been suggestions the 29-year-old can team up with national teammate Kevin De Bruyne at City, and a possible move to PSG was also discussed.
Earlier this month, Philippe Clement left the Jupiler Pro League winners for AS Monaco and Club Brugge replaced him with Alfred Schreuder, who previously worked as an assistant to Julian Nagelsmann [Hoffenheim], Erik ten Hag [Ajax] and Ronald Koeman [Barcelona].
Het Nieuwsblad have published a two-page interview with Schreuder and when it was mentioned that ‘according to some’, Vanaken ‘can even join PSG and Man City’, the Club Brugge manager said: “Also a great player, who can easily join the national team and can therefore play for a team like Dortmund. Good.
“He feels very connected to Club Brugge, where he can play the Champions League, and we should be incredibly happy about that.”
