Wolves had Ruben Vinagre at the club for five seasons before he was sold to Sporting CP in the summer of 2022.
The left-back had shown glimpses of his potential during his time in England and is currently impressing in his stint at Legia Warsaw, where he arrived on loan from Sporting in the summer transfer window.
Record in Portugal have reported today that the Polish club have signed the full-back permanently.
While Sporting will receive €2.5m from Legia Warsaw, they ‘have to give half to Wolves’ due to a previous agreement.
Files and documents are being exchanged between the two clubs and Wolves will receive €1.25m from the deal because of a clause that exists in Vinagre’s current deal.
Now 25-years-of-age, Vinagre has plenty of time to cement his best level and potentially move to a bigger league in the summer. Legia Warsaw had a buying option for the summer but have chosen to move earlier, which perhaps suggests they know there’s a good chance he’ll move on again.
