Wolverhampton Wanderers signed Saša Kalajdžić from VfB Stuttgart in the final week of the summer transfer window.

The forward made his debut for Wolves in their 1-0 win over Southampton last month, and it was during the same tie he suffered a serious knee injury.

Kalajdžić has already undergone surgery and is expected to spend most of this season away from the pitch.

The Austria international appeared as a guest on ServusTV’s program, Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7, where he provided an update on his current situation and when he plans to return to action for Wolves.

“The course is very positive, everyone is very satisfied. I’m hoping to catch a few more minutes at the end of the season. But my main goal is to get back into the game without any problems to start the next summer preparation,” Kalajdžić was quoted as saying by Laola1.

The Austria international had also ruptured his cruciate ligament earlier in his career, when he was at Stuttgart. He is well aware of the process to regain full fitness and Laola1 state the 25-year-old ‘hasn’t lost his positive nature even after this serious setback’.

“Unfortunately, I’ve had to experience too many times what it’s like when you can’t play. I have no choice but to get back up and fight my way back. I hope that it’s working so well now,” he added.

Apart from Kalajdžić, Wolves are without their star striker, Raúl Jiménez. The setbacks to the duo forced the English club to sign Diego Costa on a free transfer last month and he made his debut in the 2-0 defeat to West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Wolves have parted ways with Bruno Lage after managing only one win from eight league matches this season.
