Brentford’s Michael Kayode was very impressive in the Bees’ 4-3 win over Manchester United last weekend.

It was probably his best performance for the club, since he arrived on loan from Fiorentina in the January transfer window.

After an initial period of struggle and injuries, the Italian is finally showing his true abilities at Brentford. Andrea Ritorni, who is a key part of Kayode’s entourage, has now spoken of the defender’s time at the London club so far.

In a chat with CultoPremier, as relayed by FiorentinaNews, Ritorni stated that Brentford is the ‘perfect’ club for the versatile right-back and fits well for his future. He also praised manager Thomas Frank.

He said: “In the first few months he was on the bench, but he always fought. Now he is at the top and in defence he is a wall.

“Garnacho has never beaten him. Hats off to Frank and the management, Brentford is the perfect team for him.”

Speaking further, Ritorni claimed that the work Kayode went through with staff at the English club is now paying off.

“Mike has had some low moments, but with the work also with the staff he has found continuity, also in the great environment. He has already collected two assists against United and Arsenal. In the Premier [League] anything can happen.”

Kayode has started all of Brentford’s last four games and it comes at a vital point.

That is because the Bees have the option to sign him permanently in the summer and everything can depend on how he performs in the next couple of weeks.

If things go well, he can turn out to be a bargain for Brentford, considering how they have to pay only €16m to land him on a permanent basis.
