Leeds United forward Rodrigo has shared his pride at making a return to the Spain setup, admitting he’s in a ‘very good moment’ at Elland Road.
The Spanish forward was included in Luis Enrique’s Spain squad for the next international break this week, marking a return to a squad he has not been a part of since his last appearance vs Ukraine in the Nations League last year.
His return comes on the back of a good run of form for him at club level, with the Spaniard on two goals in 12 games this season.
Both of those have come in his last two games, helping Leeds to a point against Wolves and then all three against Norwich at the end of October.
That’s been enough to convince Enrique to bring him back into the international setup, and the Leeds man is more than pleased by that.
“It’s a pride to go to the national team,” he told DAZN, relayed by El Español.
“I think that’s what we all work for. It’s true that I’m going through a very good moment; I’m very happy to be able to come back.
“Luis Enrique has always said that he will call the players he thinks are in a good moment. Obviously, in some situations, it varies a bit depending on injuries, suspensions and so on.
“It has not been easy to have continuity. I’m very happy and very excited to be able to return.”
