Harry Redknapp picks up telephone to tell player Birmingham want to sign him

Already picking up Cheikh N’Doye on a free transfer this summer, Birmingham and Harry Redknapp aren’t done with their recruiting, targeting yet another midfielder in France.

According to L’Equipe, the man in question is Guessouma Fofana, currently at Amiens, who has already been linked more than once with a move to England when Stoke were said to be interested, and the French newspaper claim Harry Redknapp recently called the 24-year-old directly to tell him personally of his desire to sign him at Birmingham.

The newly promoted Ligue 1 side, down their end, don’t intend to lose one of their best players so easily, and are readying a new contract to try and convince him to stay.

As for the player himself, Fofana is said to still be thinking about his future, unsure as to what to do just yet.
