Celtic face Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday evening in a tough match they could do with getting something from.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently fifth in the Scottish Premiership and six points off Hearts in first place. The only consolation for Celtic is that at least they’re now above Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
A win over Rosenborg in the Europa League will mean even more if the Bhoys can get a point in Austria this week, but their chances of doing so have been pretty much dismissed.
Writing for Kronen Zeitung, one of the major newspapers in the country, Herbert Prohaska, one of the country’s greatest ever players, has told people to bank on a win for Red Bull Salzburg.
His column on European matches this week states there’s ‘hardly any doubt’ that Rodgers’ men will return back to Glasgow defeated, because ‘At home they (Red Bull Salzburg) can keep up with the best clubs in the competition – and Celtic is not even one of them’.
Should Celtic need any further motivation for their players this week then their chances being dismissed could be plastered on the dressing room wall.
