As hinted at on Tuesday, there is a chance that Genoa will make the loan for Djed Spence a permanent one come the end of the season after he arrived from Tottenham in January.

The right-back cut his spell with Leeds short to head to Italy as part of the transfer of Radu Dragusin to Spurs, and he is already impressing everyone in Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport have a profile on him, recalling that Genoa were already looking at him last summer, but the move from Tottenham then would have been too expensive.

He will ‘confirm how good’ he can be in the coming months, and if he can do so, he can ‘become one of the pillars’ of the Serie A side in year to come.

The Tottenham loanee has already made a ‘promising’ start to his time with Genoa, showing his pace, being the fastest man on the pitch on his debut against Salernitana, before playing against Lecce and Empoli, each time in a different position.

The player has been a ‘happy surprise’ so far for the Italians, and he is showing he wants to ‘make the most of this opportunity’, impressing from the very first training sessions.
