Mundo Deportivo have chased up claims that Diogo Dalot has been offered to Barcelona.
The Catalan newspaper state that after seeing reports the defender had been brought up by Manchester United in negotiations for Frenkie de Jong, they contacted both the Blaugrana and Dalot’s entourage.
Barcelona told Mundo Deportivo the Portuguese fullback is not on their agenda for the summer window, so they won’t be moving for his signing in the coming weeks.
The player’s camp insisted Dalot is ‘happy in Manchester’ and feels he has the confidence of Erik ten Hag. Starting and completing both of Manchester United’s Premier League fixtures in their disappointing start to the season, the 23-year-old appears to have moved ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the pecking order at Old Trafford.
There’s been rumours Ten Hag wants to bring in a right-back before the end of the month, but he’d likely have to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka first and there doesn’t appear to be a great deal of interest in him.
Given Barcelona are denying any serious interest, and the player’s camp are talking down a move, this rumour doesn’t appear to have much in it.
