For nearly all of the summer transfer window, the media closest to Real Betis reported that Hector Bellerin was holding out for a return to the Spanish club.
Arsenal loaned the fullback to Betis last season and he enjoyed his stay with the club and was keen to go back to Seville. However, Betis are facing financial pressures and haven’t been able to seal a deal.
That allowed Barcelona to move into the picture and they’ve agreed a deal which will see them sign Bellerin as a free agent.
The defender flew out to Barcelona on Thursday, and his agent was met by the media at the airport. Albert Botines spoke to Radio Marca about the switch from Arsenal to Barca, and also shared some information on Marcos Alonso travelling from London too.
Radio Marca quote the agent as saying: “Bellerín will be owned by Barca. It’s not a loan. The player is very happy.”
He then told Radio Marca that Alonso had been on the same plane, as he works to complete his move from Chelsea to Barcelona.
