Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs to have shown interest in FC Copenhagen star Roony Bardghji.
On December 21st, we relayed news from Denmark that Tottenham are the winger’s ‘big suitor’. A few days later, InterLive.it reported Ange Postecoglou has explicitly requested Spurs sign the 18-year-old.
Tipsbladet now explain that the Sweden international is ready to take the next step in his career.
Bardghji has been speaking to Tipsbladet and with claims of interest from Tottenham and other clubs, he won’t close the door on leaving Copenhagen this week.
“I can’t answer that. I’m happy here, but what happens, happens. It’s very difficult to say, and I don’t think about it either,” he said.
On these links, Bardghji explained: “It’s nice and big. It’s a dream that big clubs want one, but at the same time my focus is here. But of course, it’s big.”
The youngster has clocked in 1469 minutes from 29 games this season, scoring 10 goals in the process.
Although he seems ready to take the next step, a move to Tottenham or another big club won’t guarantee him regular game time. Bardghji says he’ll take this into consideration ‘quite calmly’.
“I’ll take that when it comes. Right now, I’m not thinking about it that much. I have to wait for a bid from a club and then you have to see which club wants you and then you have to think about those things there. It’s hard to answer now as I don’t think about it that much,” he added.
Last month, Bardghji changed agents and is now represented by England based CAA Base. Their client lists include a few Spurs players, including James Maddison, Heung-min Son and Pedro Porro.
The existing relationship will be boost for Tottenham, if they decide to go ahead and try to sign the Swede in this window.
