Having been sent back to Lyon on loan for the remainder of the season, there is a chance that Tanguy Ndombélé could stay there permanently.

There have been reports that the option to buy the Tottenham midfielder stands at around €65m, but until that becomes something the Ligue 1 side think about, he will have to prove to them he’s worth all that money.

Having been pushed to one side by Antonio Conte at Spurs, the player is now ready to bounce back at a club he knows well, having spent a couple of years there before his move to London.

He’s already been presented, holding a shirt and everything, and Ndombélé has also sat down to chat with Lyon’s official media, where he spoke about his move to the club from Tottenham.

He said, relayed by Le10 Sport: “Most of all, I’m coming here to start again personally. These first six months have been very complicated. I still believe in myself fully. I have a few months left to show that I’m still here. I think it was the right time to return to Lyon. I’m here, I don’t feel lost, it brings back good memories.

“Before my two years at Lyon, I came here and no one knew me. I managed to have good seasons that went really well. I managed to leave well, I came back and I’m going to try and do as well. It happened quickly, we didn’t waste time. It makes me happy, I know the house well. It was done in three days. We didn’t really have to think much before agreeing”.

Ndombélé was said to be holding out for a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but it seems that as soon as the chance to return to his former club came about, it was all very easy.

Now, he just needs to back up these words with performances on the pitch.
