Having won everything there is to win at Manchester City, Bernardo Silva wouldn’t mind trying something new next season.

That’s what Le Parisien are pushing on Wednesday, as they look into Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the Portuguese forward.

The main selling points are that the Manchester City star already knows Ligue 1 and has already played alongside Kylian Mbappé, with both of those pluses happening during their time together at AS Monaco.

Right now, talks between the Premier League winners and the French club ‘haven’t really started’, having just reached the stage where everyone knows ‘they will be difficult’.

What doesn’t help is that Pep Guardiola is ‘putting pressure’ within Manchester City to keep Silva around, knowing that talents like him are few and far between in the footballing world.

Selling the Portugal international would weaken the squad, but it’s made clear the financial aspect of the negotiations won’t be an issue, even if the Etihad residents will not be overly flexible, as they value him around €80m.

He has two years left on his Manchester City contract, and there is a belief the Sky Blues would maybe prefer sending him to Barcelona, likely due to the connections between the two sides and the fact they are less of a direct threat these days on the European scene.

Either way, ‘it is too early’ for Paris Saint-Germain to express any sort of pessimism, especially since they have ‘considerable advantages’ to offer.

The main one is that Silva ‘wants to come to Paris’, as his family ‘no longer enjoy themselves in the north of England’, and the Parisian challenge ‘excites him’.

Wanting a new adventure, he sees himself in the French capital, where he would also team up once again with Luis Campos, who signed him at Monaco from Benfica.

Down his end, the transfer guru is ‘preparing himself for a marathon of negotiations’, and would ideally want everything sorted at Paris Saint-Germain before July 22nd.

By the sound of things, though, that seems highly unlikely.
