According to a claim in the Greek media, Panathinaikos are interested in signing Leeds United full back Vurnon Anita.
The Dutch player will reportedly terminate his contract with Leeds in the coming days and SDNA say a move to Panathinaikos is a strong possibility.
After spending last season on loan at Willem II, the 30-year old is expected to leave Elland Road this summer and join Pana on a free transfer.
SDNA also say the player is keen on a move to Greece and he’s willing to lower his wage demands to join the Super League side
Panathinaikos have been linked with a couple of players from the UK in this transfer window, and we covered reports of their interest in Newcastle United’s Rolando Aarons and Celtic’s Lewis Morgan.
The Greek giants’ sporting director Nikos Dabizas is looking to strengthen his squad and the former Newcastle United defender has being using his contracts in England to bring in players.
Anita’s contract with Leeds will expire at the end of June 2020.
