Sweden coach Janne Andersson has admitted he would love to have Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga in his squad.

Elanga is currently working his way up the Manchester United youth ranks, having joined the club from Malmo in 2014.

He’s currently a part of the U23 squad and has eight appearances to his name in Premier League 2 this season, as well as two in the UEFA Youth League.

He’s also found himself a part of the Manchester United first team, sitting on the bench for the Champions League clashes with Young Boys, Villarreal and Atalanta in September and October and playing 17 minutes against West Ham in the League Cup.

He’s yet to feature for his nation on a senior level but has played for both the Under 17s and Under 21s, with seven goals in seven games for the latter this year alone.

Those are impressive numbers, and it seems Andersson is keen to bring him into the senior set-up, if Manchester United will allow it.

“We will come across (Manchester United) again. If we had Anthony, it would have been great fun,” he told Fotbollskanalen when asked if Elanga could be a ‘wild card’ in his squad for January.
