Marina Granovskaia’s ‘strong relationships’ with Napoli and agent Fali Ramadani could help Chelsea get a deal for Kalidou Koulibaly over the line this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the former Blues chief could still help the new ownership pull off a major transfer deal.
Granovskaia has now departed her former role at Stamford Bridge following the takeover by Tedd Boehly, but a statement at the time of her departure made it clear she would remain available to the ownership until the end of this transfer window.
And that could come in handy when it comes to Koulibaly, who is again being linked with a move away from Napoli.
CM.it explain the player’s agent, Ramadani, is currently in London to hold talks with potential suitors for his client.
Juventus are one of those who appreciate and follow the defender, but Napoli have no intention of selling to their Serie A counterparts and would instead prefer to sell elsewhere.
Chelsea have come forward and shown an interest in recent days, and the continued presence of Granovskaia at the club could help them get their man.
Ramadani already has ‘established relations’ with the former Chelsea chief, while Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis also has a ‘personal relationship’ with her.
That opens up the door to negotiations, and while Koulibaly won’t be available on the cheap, Chelsea are an ‘absolutely important option’ for him.
There’s also still a possibility he can stay with Napoli and renew, but the suitors are lining up nonetheless, and the Blues could be handed a final boost by Granovskaia before she departs for good.
