Tottenham have ‘identified’ Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto as their ideal replacement for Fabio Paratici and are considering an ‘assault’ for him.
That’s according to AS Roma Live, who say the idea of moving for the Portuguese chief is ‘gaining ground’ and he looks set for a ‘goodbye’ from Rome.
Tottenham have been hunting a replacement for Paratici for the best part of a month after the Italian officially resigned from his role towards the end of April.
They’ve been linked with a number of names in that time, with their search for the next man to fill the hotseat as wide and varied as their one for a new manager.
Pinto was brought into the mix earlier this month, with it explained that Daniel Levy had instructed intermediaries to reach out on his behalf and talk to the Roma chief.
That was followed by a claim that Pinto had actually met with the Tottenham chairman in London to discuss a move, something that had led to the idea of appointing him ‘deepening’.
AS Roma Live now follow that up and say the hypothesis is ‘gaining ground’ and there could now be an ‘assault’ to work out how to make the move happen.
What that would entail isn’t made clear but it’s almost certain to mean a financial assault, given Roma will need to be compensated in some form if the move is to happen.
