Earlier this afternoon, website Calcio Mercato published a story saying that Matteo Darmian’s agents had been meeting Juventus director Fabio Paratici in a hotel.
According to the report, Tullio Tinti, Paolo Castellini and Manuel Montipò were all talking to the official at the Palazzo Parigi in Milan, probably sorting out the transfer of the Manchester United player.
Now the website comes up with an update, with quotes from Tinti confirming that the negotiations are on.
“Damian? Good, we’re well placed,” the agent told Calcio Mercato.
These quotes are pretty interesting not only because they confirm that the meeting has happened, but also because they show that the Darmian saga should finally be reaching its final stages.
Calcio Mercato insists that other Italian clubs such as Inter Milan and Napoli are still interested, but it’s inevitable to consider Juventus the strongest contender for the Manchester United fullback after this meeting became public.
