To say El Confidencial are currently obsessed with Eden Hazard to Real Madrid might be taking it a bit far, but they’re certainly very keen on seeing it happening judging by the number of articles they’re writing about it.
A couple of days ago, the Spanish newspaper made it clear Zidane wanted the Belgian star in his squad for next season, and his performance against Hungary was the perfect opportunity to convince Florentino Pérez to splash the cash.
El Confidencial on Friday have a similar article, but this time focusing on Belgium’s clash against Wales, where Hazard is apparently aware his every move will be analysed by the Spanish giants and a good performance would see him increase his chances of a transfer ‘exponentially’.
They then look at where the player would fit in Zidane’s tactical schematics, and explain that if he were to play on the left, with Ronaldo pushed inwards as a striker, then covering for the roaming Marcelo would be key.
As for the price, well Madrid would still need to sell both Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez to fund the move, with Chelsea briefly mentioned as an option for the Spaniard.
It’s a lot of air from El Confidencial, really, but the underlying message is still there: Zidane really wants Hazard.
