Leroy Sané to Bayern Munich is the story of the moment in Germany, as the Manchester City forward appears to have become the Bundesliga champions’ main attacking target this summer.

Losing both Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben on free transfers in June, the German giants will need to rejuvenate their attack, and Pep Guardiola’s player appears to be top of their list.

Uli Hoeneß confirmed reports from Kicker on Thursday that talks were underway with the player and his people about a potential transfer, and now Joachim Löw, manager of the Germany national team, has had his say on the matter.

He said, relayed by Bild: “I believe he feels quite good at Manchester City, but I don’t know what he’s currently thinking. Bavaria is always a good destination. If the change does come about, it would be a good story for him and for us>’

Falling under some criticism for leaving out the Manchester City player from his squad for the 2018 World Cup, Löw was asked if he regretted his decision.

He did not.

He explained his one regret was the team he chose to face Mexico, before justifying once again his decision to leave out Sané.

He said: “I talked to Leroy just before the final announcement. We agreed on a few things. I wasn’t fully convinced by him during the preparation, while Julian Brandt, for example, was great”.
