Everton star Illiman Ndiaye is set to spend at least two months on the sidelines after limping out of the Merseyside derby with a knee injury.

That’s according to journalist Papa Mahmoud Gueye, who reports that the Everton star has not ruptures his cruciate ligaments as expected.

Ndiaye limped out of the clash with Liverpool early on this week after appearing to catch his studs in the turf while dodging a challenge from a Reds midfielder.

David Moyes has since confirmed that they are expecting the forward to be out for an extended period of time, with photos on social media showing him attending a hospital while strapped into a leg brace on Thursday.

Gueye now reports that it is ‘more fear than harm’ for the Senegal star, who has, fortunately for Everton, not ruptured his cruciate ligaments. That has been confirmed followed medical exams this week.

However, he will be out of action for at least two months as he recovers from the injury. That will be a major blow to Everton, who are already without several other first team players.

The pressure will now be on David Moyes to work out a way to replace his star man, although the act he has not ruptured his cruciate ligaments will come as good news.
