Weeks after Samuel Iling-Junior joined Aston Villa from Juventus in the summer transfer window, the winger was loaned out to Bologna.

The Englishman has played only three times in Serie A for Bologna and has been on the bench for the past few weeks.

As his loan club prepare to take on Juventus at the weekend, there is talk in Italy that Iling-Junior could be in the mix to start for Vincenzo Italiano’s side.

Ahead of that game, Bologna outlet 1000CuoriRossoblu have looked at the situation of the Aston Villa loanee.

They see the chance to play against Juve as a ‘new opportunity’ for the 21-year-old, after what has been described as a ‘rough’ start to life at Bologna under Italiano.

They state that the club’s manager has been keen on using him more in the Champions League but the injury situation has forced him to make changes to the first team.

The feeling is that it was Thiago Motta who had sanctioned Iling-Junior’s exit from the Old Lady and that the player now has a chance to strike back.

Aston Villa will obviously want the loan to improve, and that means more minutes are needed.
