Alfredo Morelos’ great form for Rangers this season is obviously getting big attention from his home country’s media.

The Colombian press has been covering every goal he scores for the Scottish Premiership side, and today it was Radio Antena 2 who managed to grab an interview with the striker.

There was of course a lot of chat about Colombian football, with the 23-year-old commenting both on his former clubs as well as about his time at the national team.

Talking about Rangers, he mentioned the help he gets from Steven Gerrard in training, and claims he’s been trying to get less bookings.

“With him I have a lot of confidence and he puts me to play as a nine. Sometimes, if he knows I have a chance, he sends me to seek the ball on the wings or to the middle of the pitch,” Alfredo Morelos told Antena 2.

“I as a player also have my mistakes, I have learned and Gerrard has advised me a lot. The referees always complicated me in that aspect, but I learned from that, I am doing things better and well in that sense.”

The player has also spoken about his future, claiming he has no offers to leave Rangers: “There’s much speculation with my departure, many teams that would be offering a good amount of money for me, but in the end there is nothing concrete or official.

“I haven’t talked to anyone, but God willing, I think that many clubs can come for good performances. I haven’t had contact with anyone. Bordeaux was true, but in the end no agreement was reached.”

Alfredo Morelos has 18 goals and five assists in 25 appearances for Rangers this season, being the club’s top scorer, ahead of Jermain Defoe.

Last weekend, he scored twice in the clash against Ross County, and now seems to be a threat for Porto in the Europa League, since he already has eight goals in the competition.
