Following Aurelio De Laurentiis’ reportedly poor joke at Pepe Reina’s wife’s expense during Napoli’s end of season dinner, the former Liverpool goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from Italy.

Straight away, talk of Newcastle United being interested in bringing Pepe Reina back to the Premier League emerged, and it’s becoming a serious story in Italy.
Gazzetta dello Sport state Rafael Benitez, the man who brought him to Liverpool and then to Napoli, is ready to offer his protégé a three-year deal at St James’ Park.
Pepe Reina is said to be very interested by this offer, even if 
Atlético Madrid also recently expressed an interest in his services.
However, the La Liga club’s inability to register players before January 2018 now makes them a less attractive destination.
Bottom line is, Gazzetta dello Sport now expect Pepe Reina to leave this summer.
