Martin Odegaard has very much worked his way into the hearts of Arsenal fans since moving to the club on loan from Real Madrid.
It took the Norwegian a little while to really get going and now he’s featuring more for Mikel Arteta, with there already being repeat reports about a desire from the Gunners to make the move a longer term thing in the summer.
Odegaard had other interest in the January window, and Everton forward Joshua King has revealed he told the Madrid man to not think twice about joining Arsenal, and to make the move to London.
King is currently away from Everton, having joined up with the Norwegian national squad, and NRK quote him as saying: “When I saw the rumour about Arsenal, I sent him a message and said: “You have to go to Arsenal”.
“He replied, “Are you sure? Are you sure?” – I was so sure. Arsenal’s style of play and Martin… I have friends who have played for Arsenal, and I know a little how the club is. In my head, I think it suited him well.”
That makes it sound like the Everton player played a rather big role in convincing his compatriot that a move to the Gunners was the right choice to make in the winter market.
King’s own future is also under some doubt, with him able to leave Goodison Park at the end of the season should things not work out. He didn’t comment on his own transfer situation.
