Adama Traore is being hyped by the Spanish media to a huge extent, after a decent debut for Barcelona against Atletico Madrid.
It wasn’t a scintillating performance, but the Wolves owned player showed enough to prove he’s not a dud, and it would appear there’s been something of an outpouring of relief.
Since Xavi Hernandez took over at Barcelona, and also Joan Laporta as president, there’s been a much kinder slant in the club’s local media. Had the Blaugrana signed Adama Traore from Wolves when Ronald Koeman was in charge, and Josep Maria Bartomeu was president, then the whole thing would have been seen through different eyes.
According to AS, the 26-year-old played a ‘glorious’ match against Atletico and ‘denied the doomsayers’, which suggests there were still some around Barcelona not convinced it was a great signing.
It’s explained the man on loan from Wolves has swatted away his ‘poor record’ with the Premier League club this season, and showed that at Barcelona things are different for him.
AS also say Adama Traore has already ‘sent a message’, figuratively, to Luis Enrique, suggesting a return to the Spanish national side isn’t far away.
Now there’s the task of keeping up the good form.
