West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals has hailed the ‘complete turnaround’ at the club this season that has seen them go from relegation battlers to top-four contenders.
The Hammers currently sit fourth in the table with 45 points from their first 25 games, a tally that sees them sitting just four points behind Manchester United in second.
It’s a remarkable change from the club, who sat in the bottom three with 24 points from their first 25 games last season.
Indeed, they were fortunate to avoid the drop, finishing 16th in the table with 39 points to their name, just five outside of the relegation zone.
This season has been completely different, with David Moyes moulding West Ham in his image and continuing the fine work he had done at the club in his first spell in charge.
Smart recruitment and a good group dynamic has seen them surge up the table, a fact Fornals is very happy with.
“I’m very happy with the way things are going at West Ham,” he told the Betway Stadium On Air podcast, relayed by MARCA.
“The assessment is very good. It’s a complete turnaround from last season, and the club is enjoying a wonderful season.
“There has been a change since the manager took over in the middle of last season; we were saved two games before the end of the Premiership, and this year he has followed a bit of the line we have been working with.
“Last year, I learned a lot, and it has helped me for this season. I’m very happy, and when things go well, everything is much easier, and the glass is always half full.”
