Alfredo Morelos’ agent Theofilos Karasavvidis has denied any contact with Fiorentina over the Rangers striker.

Morelos has been heavily linked with a move away from Ibrox after another impressive campaign under Steven Gerrard.

The Colombian managed 29 goals and ten assists in 47 games in all competitions last season, further enhancing his reputation and stats for Rangers, which now stand at 79 goals and 31 assists.

He has long been eyeing up a move to a more prestigious division as a result, with several sides in Europe all thought to be keen.

A recent report in France indicated one of those sides could be Fiorentina, with the Italian club looking to add a third striker to compete with Patrick Cutrone and Christian Kouamé.

It was rumoured a deal could be easy to manage as his agent, Karasavvidis, has a good relationship with La Viola having sent his other client Rachid Ghezzal there on loan last year.

He, though, has denied the claims telling Fiorentina.it“He is a Glasgow Rangers player, there is nothing to comment for the moment. I am not aware of these contacts.”

That would suggest reports over an Italian move for Morelos are a little wide of the mark at this moment in time, with his future still up in the air.

Despite the numerous rumours and suitors, nobody seems to have really moved for the Rangers striker this summer despite his strong numbers since arriving in Scotland three years ago.

The window still has some time left to run, though, and perhaps if clubs can’t get their primary targets in the coming weeks, interest in the Colombian will ramp up once more.
