Germany’s SportBild report Ralph Hasenhüttl is on the verge of taking over at Southampton.

They report, as a matter fo fact ‘New job for Ralph Hasenhüttl!’

The Premier League club announced on Monday that they’ve parted ways with Mark Hughes, with the club in the relegation zone and having a troubled start to the current season.

A 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Saturday wasn’t enough to keep the Welshman in his job, and it would appear Southampton have been working behind the scenes to identify his replacement.

SportBild make it clear their claim is according to their own information, and they explain Hasenhüttl will ‘fulfil his dream’ of managing outside of Germany.

The coach left RB Leipzig in May after a positive couple of years with the Bundesliga club, and has been without a position since.

English bookmakers initially installed Quique Sanchez Flores as the odds on favourite for the job, but there’s been no coverage of that in the Spanish media.
