Pierre-Michel Lasogga is very much the man of the moment. Whilst the player’s great debut for Leeds United against Burton, in which he scored two goals and added an assist, was always going to occupy the media in Yorkshire, it’s perhaps a surprise to what extent they continue to talk about it in Germany.

Despite the Leeds victory being on Saturday, Monday’s edition of Hamburger Morgenpost had him on their front page, and he’s in the German news again on Tuesday.

Lasogga has flight plans to return to Germany for the birth of his child, but as things stand the flight is booked for Wednesday. That would allow Lasogga to play on Tuesday evening against Birmingham City.

Leeds face Millwall on September 16th, and with Lasogga flying out on Wednesday, the baby will have to come quickly for the striker to be available. Keeping Lasogga in a good mood and continually in love with his new Elland Road experience is probably more important than rushing him back.

If Lasogga left Hamburg under a shadow, he’ll be returning to Germany with a strut in his step, and that will be more pronounced if he finds the back of the net against Birmingham.
