Jadon Sancho to Manchester United is a transfer rumour which is more than a year old. When it became clear he wouldn’t be moving to Old Trafford last summer, the focus soon became the current transfer window.
Borussia Dortmund have repeatedly looked to make it clear that they won’t be giving any discounts on the player, and have been sticking to a €120m asking price for some weeks now.
Previously there had been claims going as high as €150m, yet that was clearly unrealistic.
Bild have an update on Sunday evening and they report Manchester United want to pay in instalments. As they say, this is a completely normal plan for big transfers.
The German newspaper explain their information has come from English sources, however, this is unlikely to be from the media in England, as they would simply say so otherwise.
According to the claims, Manchester United’s ‘poker’ for Sancho is ‘picking up speed’. The Premier League club would look to pay €70m, with two further payments of €30m and €20m in the ‘next few years’.
Encouragingly, Bild say Dortmund ‘would not say no’ to a deal worth €120m, regardless of how it’s ‘scraped together’.
