It’s no secret Liverpool are keen on signing Syrian-born midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud. The Reds reportedly tried signing him during the summer transfer window, but nothing really materialised.
The 20-year-old has a contract until 2018 at Borrusia Monchengladbach, but interested clubs could sign him for €10m next summer due to a release clause in his contract.
That could force the Bundesliga side to sell him for a higher transfer fee this January. According to a latest report on German website Bild, Liverpool and Juventus are ready to offer as much €30m for Dahoud.
However, Borrusia Dortmund are also keen on Dahoud, and are ready to offer €15m and Nuri Sahin in exchange.
Bild say Monchengladbach don’t need the money, and would prefer a player in exchange like Sahin.
Reports in the Liverpool media suggest the Reds want to sign a wide attacking midfielder in January, with Sadio Mane leaving for African Cup of Nations, and it remains to be seen if the Merseyside club would try to sign Dahoud instead, who plays more centrally.
However, Liverpool could very well be forced to consider signing him in January, if other clubs come in for him.
